FRONTEND ENGINEER

Are you the best at engineering code that doesn’t work in Internet Explorer? Great news!
We’re looking for someone like you - who can take an existing HTML5 video player running on desktop browsers (except on IE, duh!) and upgrade it to be more feature-complete and work on tablets and mobile.
The purpose is to bring the client’s top adult entertainment to a wider audience, showcasing their content in the best way possible across the widest variety of platforms.



Your aim should be to produce the state-of-the-art in mobile HTML5 video players, with custom controls for over a dozen events, without the need for jQuery and other external dependencies. If you like YouTube’s HTML5 player but think it could have a lot more features, then you have an idea of what we’re looking for.



What You’ll Be Doing:

Authoring Web pages based on finished Photoshop designs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Collaborating with a team of eight other front-end developers and designers on site architecture, design, and implementation.

Requirements:

5+ years of front-end experience

High proficiency in semantic HTML5/CSS3

Experience with different video formats and encodings

Experience with JavaScript libraries such as jQuery

Experience building jQuery plugins

Dominion of front end concepts like AJAX, native data structures (JSON and XML), the DOM, etc.

Ability to read and understand PHP

Passion for researching and learning emerging technologies

Full knowledge of web standards

Proficiency with progressive enhancement and cross-browser compatibility

Experience using Adobe Photoshop(R)

Experience with code repositories (Git, SVN)

Ability to implement responsive designs

Previously worked with templating engines (Smarty or Handlebars, etc)

Familiarity with object-oriented design principles and CSS

Experience with NodeJS

Experience with react.js

Willingness to work partly during EST work-hours ( 4-hour overlap).
