In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.About the Role:The Senior Specialist Family Violence Advisor provides expertise and support to staff within the Mental Health Division to identify and respond to family violence, whether consumers are experiencing family violence or perpetrating family violence.The role will be responsible for building family violence capability amongst staff through the provision of primary and secondary consultation support, education/training and reflective learning opportunities, as well as supporting collaborative inter-agency practice that embeds the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework within core service provision across the Mental Health Division. The Specialist Family Violence Advisor will be involved in the review of complex or high risk of family violence and may also be involved in the provision of an enhanced clinical response. Reporting responsibilities within the Mental Health Division will require that the role contribute to the identification and implementation of broader strategies to optimise organizational alignment with legislative obligations and best-practice standards.To be successful in this role you will have:An approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social WorkersAn approved degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia/ AHPRAAn approved degree in Psychology and current registration.An approved Nursing degree with APHRA registration.Extensive experience working with family violence and/or within specialist family violence services;Consolidated knowledge of relevant legislation, including but not limited to, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, the Family Violence Protection Act 2008, the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005, the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014, the Health Records Act 2001.Significant knowledge and experience in the use of current and relevant legislative frameworks such as the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework and Information Sharing Schemes.Significant knowledge and experience in providing family violence informed practice interventions to improve safety and enhance family functioning with families who have multiple and complex needs.Demonstrated capacity to assess and manage risk and develop safety plans regarding adult and child victim survivors.Demonstrated experience providing interventions with people who use violence.A working knowledge of the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence and the Victorian Government's Family Violence Reform agenda.Next Steps If this opportunity sounds like the next step in your career, then we would love to hear from you.
