Job Summary
The Software Quality Assurance Engineer is integral to and active throughout the entire software development lifecycle. They actively communicate with any and all affected parties (product managers, product owners, scrum masters, developers, sales, services, managers, and customers) to assure that the software is being built correctly, and that the right solution is being created for the customer. They use modern tools and methods to ensure that the highest quality software is delivered to our customers.
Responsibilities
Design test processes and procedures used to ensure that software operates within defined requirements
Implement test plans, automation, and validation strategies
Identify and investigate issues found during testing
Work closely with product managers, software developers, and other software quality engineers in an agile environment to resolve issues
Develop and maintain automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing
Knowledge & Skills
Software/Web automation scripting experience (Selenium WebDriver, HP UFT, Capybara, Watir, etc.)
Programming knowledge/experience (Ruby, VB Script, JavaScript, HTML/XML, CFML, Java, etc.)
Database knowledge/experience (MS SQL and/or Oracle, SQL query language)
Backend testing
Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, trust-building, conflict-resolution, and writing skills
Passionate about creatively solving business problems
Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Meet multiple, challenging deadlines while communicating expectations clearly
Experience & Proficiencies
Career position within field
4-year degree or equivalent experience
6-9 years additional experience beyond education
Performs important, complex work with high skill and proficiency
Moderate test automation, regulated industry knowledge or experience
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Operate a computer and work at a desk for extended periods of time
Communicate effectively in writing, in person, over the telephone and in e-mail
