The Opportunity: Are you a seasoned meat sales professional seeking a chance to leave your mark on the meat industry? Our long-standing industry partner, recognised as one of Australia's premier meat trading brands, is looking to appoint a General Manager to lead their established domestic sales team. In this role, you'll maintain the company's key client base, develop new customer relationships and uphold a strong reputation within the meat industry. You will oversee all business and sales functions for the site, including leading the sales team, managing budgets, optimising yields and margins and ensuring compliance standards are met. The Position: Market and promote a multi-species meat product range to domestic markets. Identify and develop incremental sales opportunities from the company's existing customer base whilst creating strategies to penetrate target markets. Source meat commodities and negotiate margins to maximise overall profitability of the business. Liaise with the business owners, management and key stakeholders internally and externally. Demonstrate professional acumen when dealing with clients and leading your team. Consistently achieve sales and margin targets within set parameters. Seamlessly manage existing and new customer accounts from order to delivery. Collaborate with internal support teams to ensure the timely delivery of meat commodities. This is an office-based role and not suitable for candidates seeking remote work. The Candidate: To succeed in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria: Proven track record in meat sales is essential; candidates without industry experience will not be considered. Demonstrated success in generating consistent and solid revenue results. In-depth understanding of the meat industry and the Victorian buyers market, ideally with an existing network of contacts and strong recommendations from previous employers. Capability to build strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders. Exceptional leadership skills, with experience motivating sales teams to achieve their best. Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics and their impact on customer satisfaction and business operations. A hunter mentality with the persistence to overcome challenges. Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Outstanding communication and presentation skills. Excellent administration and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. The Offer: This role offers a competitive six-figure salary based on your career history and client base. Up and coming candidates can expect a starting salary of $120,000–$140,000 per year, while senior candidates can anticipate upwards of $140,000. The final package is negotiable, dependent on your industry experience and revenue forecasts. Additional benefits include: Lucrative annual bonuses.
