The General Manager, Reportable Conduct at MACS oversees compliance with child safety and reportable conduct regulations, supporting the 2030 Strategic Plan. The role involves managing complex cases related to reportable conduct, leading teams, and collaborating across MACS to ensure a child-safe culture. Key responsibilities include policy development, risk management, and stakeholder engagement with both internal and external bodies. Clinical supervision is provided to handle challenging content related to child protection. Candidates need strong leadership skills, knowledge of legislative requirements, and a commitment to child-centered practices. This role would suit a candidate with strong experience in child safety compliance, especially within education or similar sectors. They should possess proven leadership in managing sensitive cases, a thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams. Key qualities include excellent stakeholder collaboration skills and a commitment to promoting a safe, child-centered culture. WHAT YOU WILL DO Leading and managing teams, providing guidance and professional development to ensure compliance with legislative and internal standards. Developing and implementing strategic plans and frameworks to address high-risk issues and support timely case resolution. Driving the development of policies, procedures, and training for consistent oversight of reportable conduct. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to address concerns and promote best practices in reportable conduct. Overseeing data collection and analysis to inform decision-making and support continuous improvement in risk mitigation. Managing budgets for projects and initiatives, optimizing resource utilization. Preparing and presenting data and reports on reportable conduct matters for key stakeholders, including Board Committees. ABOUT YOU Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and legislative frameworks related to child safety, reportable conduct, and compliance with the Victorian education sector's standards. Experience in reportable conduct and case management, especially handling complex cases in education or child-focused settings. Child-centered approach to safety with a deep understanding of child safety standards and practices that prioritize children's welfare. Strong investigative and decision-making skills, with experience managing sensitive investigations and maintaining procedural fairness. Proven leadership ability to manage and develop teams, with a focus on collaboration and fostering a safe, positive work environment. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of working effectively across various teams and levels within the organization. Resilience, adaptability, and continuous improvement mindset, with a commitment to high standards and a proactive approach to change and innovation.
